Western offshore oil field in India houses almost 300 offshore platforms for oil and gas exploration of which near 250 over platforms have outlived their life. Life extension of these platforms becomes essential for further utilization for production activities. In many cases, design level analyses combined with ultimate strength assessment, life extension has been granted. However, risk-based assessment arriving at probability of failure could be the logical method of assessing these platforms. As part of Structural Integrity Management System (SIMS) for western offshore, assessment tool based on fault tree analysis incorporating existing member strength and joint capacity has been developed. Failure event is evaluated based individual member utilisation ratio and the probability of failure is determined. Reserve strength ratio (RSR) generally represent the resistance of the system and it is obtained from pushover analysis of structure using 100-year storm environmental loads. For this study, five typical aged well head platforms are selected with different water depth and Reserve Strength Ratio (RSR) is evaluated using USFOS software. The Monte Carlo simulation method is used to generate statistical values of RSR. Supporting the need among researchers worldwide for additional online and multimedia content, ASME now offers the ASME Conference Video Collection. This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
