The paper provides a detailed evaluation of the interfaces that exist in&nbsp; split SURF - SPS contracts and provide a comparison to an integrated SURF - SPS execution scenario. A comprehensive interface matrix of a greenfield SURF-SPS&nbsp;scope (reference case)&nbsp;is presented and is categorized into engineering, procurement, construction/fabrication and installation work packages. The matrix is used to illustrate the exact scope dependencies and the sources of interface risks. This serves as the basis of estimating interface scope and monetary risk reduction when compared to a similar matrix for an integrated SURF+SPS execution.While statements have been made in the past about benefits of an integrated execution, tangible points (or figures) of parity between conventional and integrated SURF-SPS execution has not been presented in context of interface scope reduction. This paper will justify the fact that there is a significant interface scope and risk reduction for operators, if they adopt an integrated EPCI execution model with a combined systems engineering governance. Interface scope and risks can be easily reduced at an early field development stage through integration of SURF and SPS engineering and execution planning.Following tangible results are &nbsp;provided in the paper: a) % of interface(s) reduced in E-P-C-I areas. b) Risk reduction in monetary terms – estimated values. This leads to a conclusion that indeed, an integrated EPCI model provides significant interface scope reduction and thus, the contingency costs associated with it.

This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
