There are numerous concerns with implementing the 21stCentury Cures Act(21CCA) information blocking rules within the pediatric population. These concerns largely focus on adolescent privacy, but other issues such as maternal perinatal health, abuse, familial conflict, or misattributed paternity that pose additional risk. At the Kravis Children’s Hospital at the Mount Sinai, a group consisting of pediatrics, informatics, and general counsel convened to address the implementation of these information blocking stipulations. The implementation of the federal regulations was confounded by strict New York State privacy law, which grants adolescent patients’ complete privacy over their sexual and reproductive health information
