In this study, ten online modules based on the initial set of introductory topics in general chemistry were developed. The modules covered topics including states of matter, chemical and physical changes, significant figures, models of the atom, isotopes, the periodic table, nomenclature, and mass to mole conversions. The goal of the modules was to serve as a general chemistry refresher for students who would be taking introductory general chemistry courses at the university level. Before classes began for the semester, students enrolled in upcoming introductory general chemistry courses were given access to the online modules, as well as to quizzes that accompanied the modules. The development of the modules, as well as the results of students’ use of the modules, will be presented.
