Risk assessment has traditionally focus on the chemical and mechanical aspects of laboratory procedures. This creates a limited view of the stakeholders in safety of laboratory work and leads to the neglect of many important resources that imperil both the lab group and its neighbors. This presentation will consider practical ways to expand the scope of laboratory risk assessments to support safer science and a safer community.
