We develop a home-made confocal Raman microscope equipped with a diamond anvil cell, which allows us to observe the Raman spectra of various materials at the high pressure up to 3 GPa. We apply this Raman microscope to ice VI, ice VII, and THF clathrate hydrate to obtain new insight into the molecular-level structure and phase-transition dynamics of these high-pressure crystals. We will report the detailed specification of our microscope and new experimental and also theoretical spectroscopic data of the high-pressure water phases.
