This talk addresses the chemical looping-based CO2/H2O splitting to CO/H2 to negate the high temperature operation of traditional thermochemical processes by utilizing fuels as reducing agents of oxygen carriers. In detail, this work introduces three different investigations as follows: 1) Cyclic CO2 reduction in the reverse water-gas shift chemical looping (RWGS-CL) process with a detailed analysis of perovskite-based oxygen carriers [1-2]. 2) Effect of utilizing CH4-based feed on the chemical looping CO2 splitting process [3] and 3) Cyclic production of syngas and high-purity hydrogen by the chemical looping steam methane reforming process on the B-site incorporated LaCo0.6Fe0.4O3 [4].
