Isotopically labeled compounds are critical in drug development for understanding the fate of a potential drug candidate in biological systems. Herein we describe a novel one-step protocol for the labeling of complex pharmaceutical molecules which proceeds under mild conditions, has high functional group tolerance and greatly expands the scope of currently targetable sites for isotopic labeling.
