The goal of this project was to develop a curriculum that would improve high school chemistry students skills with a focus on safety whilst rewarding them with a college certification. The resulting partnership was intended to help high school students gain important lab skills while also providing them with a final certification. The curricula was designed using a backward design methodology. As part of this process, the decision was made to utilize media components given the increased use of media after the 2020-2021s switch to virtual and hybrid learning.  In these curricula, media production and application was created specifically for the introductory safety day. Results of the curricula development will be discussed and including indications of how to best integrate student interaction with a video activity.
