Local delivery of biologic drugs by injection is an invasive route of administration that at best is an inconvenience to patients and at worse is an impediment to effective therapy. I will share the story of our team's efforts to reduce patient burden through development of a chemistry-enabled ultra-long-acting injectable biologic that is capable of providing months of efficacious local drug exposure from a single injection.
