<i>S. aureus</i> causes a range of illnesses from minor skin infections to life-threatening diseases such as pneumonia, bacteremia, and endocarditis. Bacterial resistance to current antibiotics is a growing health threat and the rise of antimicrobial-resistant infectious strains dramatically limits the lifespans of existing antibiotics. Therefore, there is a need for new antibiotics. Thus, the goal of this research is to synthesize antimicrobial peptide derivatives through a novel approach and test their antibacterial activity.
