This project was focused on the synthesis of various heteroaryl diketones following the optimization of reaction conditions. A two-step procedure was used including a heteroarylation and oxidation. Compounds were verified with Nuclear Magnetic Resance (NMR) and purified using Medium Pressure Liquid Chromatography (MPLC). A condensation reaction with<i> o</i>-phenylenediamine was utilized to demonstrate the potential applications of these heteraryl diketone compounds.
