Recently, interest in technology for eco-friendly energy harvesting has been increasing continually. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is one of the most fascinating materials that has been used in energy harvesting technology as well as a micro-filter by utilizing an electrostatic effect. To enhance the performance of the electrostatic effect-based nanogenerator, most researches focused on enlarging the contacting surface area of the pair of materials with different triboelectric series. For this reason, the form of one-dimensional nanofibers has been widely used recently. In order to realize practical energy harvesting applications, the PVDF nanofibers were modified by enlarging their contact surface area, modulation the microstructure of the surface, and maximize the fraction of β-phase by incorporating additives or forming the composites with inorganic nanoparticles. Among them, nanocomposite structures by incorporating various nanoparticles have been investigated widely to increase the β-phase through the strong hydrogen bonding or ion-dipole interaction with -CF2/CH2- of PVDF as well as to enhance the mechanical strength. In this study, we successfully fabricated the composite PVDF NFs based on the electrospinning process for nanogenerator applications. The inorganic nanoparticles for composite NFs were BaTiO3, Fe3O4, and graphene nanoparticles. The TENG devices were fabricated and their performances were compared to applicate sustainable power sources.
