Life on Earth has been found in many extremes of pressure <i>P</i> and temperature <i>T</i>. To understand how the proteins necessary for life can function at these extremes, our approach involves molecular dynamics simulations, combined with experimental data, Here, we examine how evolution pathways influence the types of biophysical adaptations of enzymes to extremes environments. The biophysical adaptations range from “material science” changes in the proteins to site specific changes that target weak spots in the protein.
