Metal phthalocyanines, the synthetic analogue of porphyrins, are fascinating conjugated structures that due to their semiconducting properties, their inexpensive synthesis and their nanofabrication’s flexibility are perfect candidates for the development of chemiresistive gas sensors. In this work we explore the change in different nanofabrication parameters to develop chemiresistive sensors from nanowires of fluorinated metal phthalocyanines (F<sub>16</sub>MPcs). In doing so, we have discovered new crystalline phases for the cobalt and iron F<sub>16</sub>MPcs. In this talk, I will discuss in detail the nanofabrication parameters we have used in the physical vapor deposition apparatus to lead to multiple crystallinities, what crystalline phases can be correlated to previously reported MPcs polymorphs, and what new phases have arose that may be influencing our sensor’s kinetics such as response and recovery times.
