Rhamnolipid natural products have myriad surfactant and biological activities and as such have garnered significant industrial investigations in their synthesis and derivatization. On scale, typical procedures generate these molecules through fermentation processes, however this often leads to mixed cogeners requiring either non-specific use or extensive purification processes. Glycosurf has developed a scalable method for the synthesis of a broad array of pure cogener rhamnolipids through selective and high yielding synthesis of the requisite b-hydroxyacids and subsequent glycosylation to produce high purity rhamnolipids, and related analogs, which have proven effective in metals remediation, wound healing, and for other applications. This talk will discuss our patented methods for large scale synthesis and applications of our technologies.
