Our group has elucidated the structure-reactivity relationships and reaction pathways for a series of major PFAS structures, including perfluorocarboxylates, perfluorosulfonates, fluorotelomers, ether structures, and H- or Cl-containing structures under reductive and oxidative transformations. This presentation will first provide an overarching review of the key findings. The second part will showcase our engineering efforts by accelerating the reaction and enhancing the defluorination toward 100% cleavage of all C-F bonds and minimization of chemical and energy consumptions.
