The use of single-source precursors is a common approach in nanocrystal synthesis. However, developing stable and effective single-source precursors is often difficult. Additionally, determining the chemistry underlying the conversion of single-source precursors to nanocrystals is particularly challenging. We have developed a synthesis of zinc- and sulfur-containing single-source precursors and have demonstrated successful conversion of our precursors to zinc sulfide nanocrystals. This poster will focus on the structure of these single-source precursors under varying reaction conditions and the impact of their structure on polymerization and reactivity.
