Strategies for controlled polymer deconstruction will enable new material functions and will contribute to the development of next-generation, sustainable materials. This talk will highlight our recent efforts to trigger the deconstruction of polymers using supramolecular motifs. Specifically, triggering polymer degradation through photoredox processes that leverage metal–organic cages/polyhedra will be described.
