The talk will focus on select work conducted in or with a connection to the virology medicinal chemistry department headed by the 2022 Alfred Burger Medicinal Chemistry Award recipient.  Results and lessons learned from HCV and HIV research programs or development compounds arising from them will be presented.  In 2016,  a number of HIV development compounds and programs were acquired by ViiV healthcare and where possible, updates on progress or learnings will be discussed.
