Introduction and Background:
The COVID-19 pandemic fast-tracked the already changing landscape in medical education from the traditional method of face-to-face learning (f2f) to online learning only (e-learning) and blended learning (BL), which is a combination of both online and f2f learning. Hamad International Training Center (HITC) is an accredited course centre for European Resuscitation Council (ERC) courses in Qatar. HITC adopted BL for Immediate Life Support (ILS) course by mandating the interactive pre-course material on Cosy (ERC learning platform), which was previously optional for knowledge preparation and combined with f2f sessions for skills training and team management of cardiac arrest simulation teaching scenarios. This study was conducted to understand the participants’ perception of the effectiveness of the delivery of BL in the ILS course at HITC.
Methodology:
A cross-sectional survey was conducted at HITC venues between December 2021 to February 2022 using Microsoft Forms. Any health professionals who had undertaken e-learning on Cosy and attended the f2f session of the ILS course during the study period were included in the study.
Results:
SPSS Statistics 27 was used for analysis. Out of the 250 participants, 94.3% (n=230) found the BL format for the ILS course effective. Chi-Square test showed that age, gender, profession and English as 1st language were not associated with the effectiveness of the BL format (p>0.05). 

Participants with prior experience in BL (98.1%) found the BL delivery format more effective compared to those with no previous BL experience (91.2%) (p .026). 100% of participants who use skills frequently (daily, once weekly, once monthly) found BL ILS effective compared to only 94% who used once yearly and 87% who never used ILS skills (.027).
Conclusion:
Most learners found BL ILS effective. Therefore, continuing with ILS in BL format is an option for HITC to consider after the pandemic ends. Participants who use ILS skills less frequently or do ILS first time would benefit from the full day ILS course.
