The state of power (SoP) estimation and model development of the 43 Ah large-format NMC cell used in vehicle applications is presented in this paper with a thorough investigation of the cells' internal resistance increase. In the automotive industry, one of the main reasons for the need for a battery management system (BMS) having integrated SoP estimation functions is the need for a safe power operation system. In this study, Dual Polarization Equivalent Circuit Model is developed for SOP estimation. Validation of the developed SoP model is performed by using dynamic and static validation profiles and promising results are found.

In the automotive industry, one of the main reasons for the need for a battery management system (BMS) having integrated SoP estimation functions is the need for a safe power operation system. In this study, an SoP model is coupled with Dual Polarization Equivalent Circuit Model for the accurate SoP estimation. Validation of the developed model is performed by using dynamic and static validation profiles and promising results are found with an error of less than 2%.
