Electric Vehicles (EVs) are an increasingly important part of the household vehicle fleet, but they have different needs than conventional vehicles. To plan for their continued expansion of EV ownership, planners and electrical utilities must know where their owners live, work, and charge. We developed an online tool for testing scenarios of EV adoption and infrastructure needs. The tool relies primarily on publicly available data and applies advanced charging models to estimate the impact of overall adoption rates, commuting, vehicle range, home charging, and the cost of charging at commute destinations on the spatial distribution across a range of spatial scales.
