In this work,one new method is applied with the motor wiring and two separated battery packs, and there is no change for inverter hardware design. With this adaption, the buck and boost circuit is formed with the two battery packs, motor wiring and inverter, which realizes the high pulse current (RMS from 1C to 4C) between the two packs. The experimental results have shown that the battery self-heating rate can be 3 Degree C/min at low temperature, proving an effective, practical and promising method for battery heating of EVs with low cost and high efficiency.
