Following the key principles of sustainable development, we produced a hybrid eco-thermoset resin, a by-product through blending of epoxidized corn oil to complex compound of vinyl ester resin. The new polymer blend was made with ECO content at an optimal amount of 15 percent. After characterization, it was discovered that the VEECO15 blend cured at 8h had improved its glass transition (6.38%), mechanical properties (flexural strength, 19.36% and modulus, 123.53%, and impact energy, 29.08%) as well as the flammability property by 20.61%. As a result of the proposed synthesis mechanism, the hydrogen bonding between Vinyl Ester resin and Epoxidized Corn Oil suggests reduction of Bisphenol-A content of 14.71% for bio-based content and composition of 91.25% of bio-based organic carbon content upon the introduction of ECO as a bio-based polymeric material. Overall, the polymer blend if offering a new source of hybrid eco-thermoset resin.
