Over the past decades, gold was difficultly leached from nature ores owing to its extremely low grade. To date, the effective method of extracting gold from ores is leached via cyanide. However, cyanidation leaching brings lots of pressure on the environment because of the high toxicity of cyanide. Under the advocating of green development in the world, ammoniacal thiosulfate leaching as a cheap and nontoxic technique, causes wide attentions. Nevertheless, it is difficultly used in industry due to the inefficiently recovery of gold(I) from the leaching solutions. In our previous work, MoS2 is firstly applied as a catalysis for catalytic reduction and recovery of gold thiosulfate complex. From the perspective of catalysis using MoS2, the catalytic activity of MoS2 principally originates from Mo deges as well as unsaturated S atoms while its basal plane is catalytically insert. Therefore, in our work, structure engineering of MoS2 is applied for enhancing the recovery of gold thiosulfate complex from leaching solutions, further to put a new way for extracting gold in leaching process.
