Synthesizing metal-organic porous material with high-valent metals and phosphonate/phosphinate building blocks has been challenging due to the strong bonding with the metal center and phosphonate/phosphinate groups which results in poor crystallinity without well-defined structures. To solve this problem, we synthesized a series of metal-organic porous materials with high-valent metals and phosphonate/phosphinate based on post-synthetic methods. The structures of the synthesized materials were revealed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The porosity of the materials was confirmed by gas sorption isotherms. This work might provide a useful methodology for reticular chemistry.
