Over the last three decades, chiral sulfoxides have attracted special interest due to their biological activity and applications in asymmetric synthesis. Considering their biological properties, enantiopure sulfoxides became important in the pharmaceutical and medicinal industries. Many methods for obtaining enantiopure sulfoxides have been developed and their applicability was evaluated by their yield and enantiomeric excess. The most well-known way for obtaining chiral sulfoxides has been investigated which include the metal-catalyzed enantioselective oxidation of sulfides.
