The manufacture of engineered natural products has increased in recent years, and companies and their counsel must brainstorm what intellectual property (IP) protection for these innovative products should entail, particularly in view of potential patent eligibility issues. This presentation will discuss important considerations in determining the patentability of engineered natural products, examine relevant court decisions, and summarize various options for obtaining IP protection in this area.
