In the classroom, instructors typically have a plan in place to run the class before it begins. However, predetermining lesson plans before knowing how students are doing in the classroom, can end up leaving students behind. Classrooms that have embedded tutors within them can be a tremendous advantage to those who need additional help. Many universities implement one-on-one tutoring, which promotes additional student learning and motivation in the traditional classroom setting. Furthermore, tutors can help build another bridge between the instructor and student, letting professors know what students struggle with based on observations. In these classrooms there is a threefold collaboration that helps all involved to learn and gain more experience. These include the interactions between the instructor and student, the instructor and peer tutor, and the peer tutor and student. We will expand upon these types of interactions and discuss their benefits for all three groups involved.
