This poster reviews the past decade of contributions from the Berry laboratory to the NSF Center for Selective C-H Functionalization. Highlights include mechanistic investigations into catalytic carbene and nitrene transfer as well as novel catalyst development. Emphasis is placed on synthesis, spectroscopy, and computation with a focus on transition metal complexes containing metal-metal bonds. In addition, recent efforts toward non-precious metal catalyst design using Co and Cu will also be presented.
