Amides are prevalent in biological active compounds and have wide applications in pharmaceutical drugs. We, therefore, designed and synthesized three amide derivatives of 3-benzamido-N-phenylbenzamide bearing electron donating and electron withdrawing groups using the Schotten-Baumann reaction. The progress of the reactions were monitored by TLC, and the purification of the chromatography and recrystallization techniques. We investigated their electrochemical and computational properties. The cyclic voltammetry measurements were performed using a potentiostat with a three-electrode in voltammetry cell, with a Bioanalytical Electrochemical Instrument workstation interfaced with a computer. The geometrical and electronic properties of the compound were determined with Gaussian 16 package using density functional theory (DFT) with pattern of the B3LYP/6-311(d,p) level. The data shows that the presence of the electron withdrawing group caused a lower oxidation potential, and the compounds with electron donating groups had higher oxidation potentials.
