This work illustrates a promising sustainable, eco-friendly biopolymer as an alternative to the toxicological effect of synthetic silane in silica-filled rubber compounds. The novel system doesn’t allow the curatives to adsorb on the silica surface on the one hand and improves the chemo-mechanical properties on the other hand. Three types of characterization, i.e., chemical, microscopic and mechanical techniques, are employed in the novel study to claim the effectiveness. The biopolymer-modified silica-filled rubber compound is a remedy to the effect of synthetic silane, i.e., processing (high-temperature mixing, scorching), health, and environmental (ethanol release) concerns. The biopolymer system of this work is highly comparable to commercially available silane silica-filled rubber compounds in static and dynamic properties. This work can be an alternative to the silane system and aim at sustainability as well as eco-friendliness in elastomeric industries.
