Electrochemical double-layer capacitors are an essential type of energy-storage devices due to their high power density, fast charge/discharge rate and high durability. A separator plays an important role in supercapacitors to prevent short circuit while allow ions to transfer through its porous structure. In the presentation, fallen leaves will be demonstrated as efficient separators for supercapacitors. Among four types of leaves, Quercus rubra (QR) leaf exhibited the best electrochemical performance as a separator for supercapacitors, achieving a high areal capacitance of 1.94 F/cm<sup>2</sup> with a mass loading of 10.0 mg/cm<sup>2</sup>, which is even comparable to the commercial glass fiber separator.
