The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; [and] to secure the national defense." NSF fulfills this mission primarily through the support of basic research and people to create knowledge that transforms the future. Accordingly, projects that develop fundamental knowledge, processes, materials, or systems to advance polymer circularity can find support through both targeted solicitations and the agency's core research programs. This presentation will provide an overview of relevant funding opportunities, Dear Colleague Letters, and core programmatic goals. Active projects in the agency's polymer circular economy research portfolio will also be highlighted.
