Running an effective research safety program at a large R1 institution requires the efforts of many safety professionals. To organize and enhance these efforts, Columbia University EH&S uses several technology platforms: a customized version of SafetyStratus’ EH&S software, known as LION, to compile researcher-specific information; Bioraft's ChemTracker to monitor chemical inventory; and an in-house system, RASCAL, for safety training. During this presentation, we will discuss how these centralized modules have led to the development of targeted safety programming and the provision of directed resources and supplies. These systems enable EH&S involvement to be relevant to the research community.
