The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Working Party on Pesticides (OECD WPP) was formed in 1992 with one of its goals to harmonize the data and methods used to test and assess pesticide risks.  As part of this ongoing effort starting with a June 2019 seminar on ‘Evolving Digital and Mechanical Technologies for Pesticides and Pest Management’, the OECD WPP formed a Drone/UAV Subgroup that produced a ‘state of the knowledge’ report on pesticide application using UAVs that was published by the OECD in 2021.  Several recommendations were made in this ‘state of the knowledge’ report including the identification of knowledge gaps relevant for regulatory risk assessment of UAV pesticide application.  In response to these recommendations, where appropriate the UAPASTF has been formed with the goal of generating information and data for submission to regulators to support the use of UAVs for crop protection, public health applications, and other uses of pesticide products.  An overview of the UAPASTF and its work will be provided in this presentation.
