Recently, the combination of conductive PEDOT:PSS with graphene has received increasing attention not only for the different substituents that increase the electrical properties but also for utilizing them in various kinds of electronics applications. Accordingly, our aim in this work is to fabricate highly efficient hybrid films PEDOT:PSS/graphene. Additionally, heptacoordinated organotin (IV) complexes, were added to the films, to manufacture structures that serve as active layers in organic solar cells. The heptacoordinated organotin (IV) complexes used, were small molecules with different substituents that increases the efficiency in the devices. Their presence in films, promotes the electric charges transport, due to their structure π-conjugated and, to the presence of electronegative atoms and of substituents coordinated to the metal. The function of the tin complexes was as components of the active layer of the device, while the function of the polymer and graphene was as holes transport layer (HTL) and transparent electrode (TE). The hybrid films were deposited by spin-coating technique. To increase the efficiency of the films by dint of an electron transport layer (ETL), a layer of bathophenanthroline (BPhen) was deposited using a high-vacuum thermal evaporation system. Infrared spectroscopy and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) were used for the structural and topographic characterization. Hybrid films were taken to measure their optical properties, such as absorbance and transmittance, by the UV-Vis method. For the electrical and photovoltaic characterization of the films, organic solar cells were fabricated using the structure: glass/ITO/PEDOT:PSS-graphene-complex/bathophenanthroline/Ag. The films transmitted more than 70% of light in the wavelength region of 600-1000nm; the absorption coefficient was in order of 10-5cm-1 and the optical band gap was around 2.64 eV. Conductivity values between 10-5 and 10-4 S/cm were obtained for the fabricated devices. External quantum efficiency (EQE) and short circuit current (JSC) measurements were conducted for the devices. The results indicate that the devices present good performance for solar cell applications with higher conductivity.
