In my current role as a Developer Relations Manager at NVIDIA, I aim to identify high-impact cutting-edge research combining artificial intelligence and computational chemistry, ultimately facilitating the acceleration of related software on NVIDIA GPU hardware. The time I spent in Adrian’s research group while pursuing my Ph.D., beginning in 2013, built the foundation of the skills I utilize daily. During that time, I was exposed to a broad range of research efforts in computational chemistry applications and methods development. With Adrian’s guidance we helped bring in a new era of machine learning potentials; we developed ANI, the first ever general-purpose machine learning potential for organic molecules. To celebrate Adrian’s 60<sup>th</sup> birthday, I will discuss our work over nine years of collaboration, and how his mentoring style has shaped who I am and the work I do today.
