Performing maintenance and calibration of pipettes and other equipment has been a challenge during the pandemic. Especially work that must be performed in the field. We’ve had to adapt our services in order to deal with supply shortages, such as pipette tips and other parts for repairs.<br/>A lot of university laboratories have deferred their maintenance schedules and the pipettes need additional work to bring them back to accurate working condition.  This puts pricing pressure on our customers and business.<br/>We are looking at further fields of research and how it may affect pipette maintenance.  For example, measuring PFAS (from environment, food, cosmetics, etc.) requires some special attention to avoid contamination during sample preparation.  Pipetting samples could be a source of contamination.  Some parts and lubricant in pipettes contain PFAS.
