Organic materials with reversible luminescent switches upon external stimuli have attracted much attention owing to their potential applicability in sensors, optical data storage devices, and security ink.<sup>[1]</sup> However, most investigations focus on the stimuli-responsive behaviors of single-component materials, while there remains challenging on the research of multiple component materials, on account of their uncontrolled preparation and unpredictable performances. Herein, we have designed and fabricated a reversible luminescent switch based on the transformation of two co-crystals with upconversion emission.<sup>[2]</sup> The red-emissive co-crystal can transform into yellow-emissive co-crystal, triggered by the introduction of the third component, and the yellow emission can recover to the initial red emission by solvent fuming. Consequently, an upconversion emission switch has been achieved with high contrast and good reproducibility. This work provides a rare example of a reversible luminescent switch based on co-crystal to co-crystal transformation, which affords a deeper understanding on the rational design and controlled preparation of organic co-crystal materials.
