Recently, single metal atoms (SMAs) immobilized on a conductive substrate such as 2D carbon nanosheets have been shown as effective catalysts for electrochemical CO2 reduction and charge storage by changing their morphology.1 However, the performance of the catalytic activity of SMAs can be improved by significantly modifying their electronic structures.2 SMAs are usually unsaturated coordinated, which renders them to provide electrochemically active centers for catalysis. Besides Co and Fe, Ni-based SMAs are the most in the limelight among SMA catalysis for ECR. Herein, we have synthesized SA Ni@potassiumphthalimide NC. Single-atom Zn on porous carbon materials has a significant effect on enhancing the catalytic activity of CO2 conversion. We have developed a strategy to make single atom Zn in high surface area 2D carbon nanosheet SA Zn@ potassium phthalimide. We have developed a strategy for fabricating hollow ZIF 8 enriched of single Zn atoms doped with potassium phthalimide. Because of the high surface area of the parent material doped with a hollow porous sphere, it can (I) accommodate more CO2 molecules and increase the catalytic activity. (II) facilitate the electron transport system making it suitable for charge storage systems. (III) presence of hollow structure can improve the solar light absorption via multiple reflections of light, i.e. making it photochemically active material, and (IV) the atomically dispersed Zn/N active sites are readily available for CO2 fixation.
