The insectcides and targets (INSTAR) summit/symposium series developed out of a meeting originaly held at the University of Florida, Emerging Pathogens Institute following the 2016 International Congress of Entomology. It brought together an intyernational grop of academic and industrial scientists to discuss issues of insecticide discovery, toxicology, student training, and academic/industry collaboration. It then evolved into a continuing series held in alternate years at national meetings of the ACS Division of Agrochemicals and the Entomological Society of America.
