The current study aimed to synthesize certain adamantane-linked 1,2,4-triazoles and fused 1,2,4-triazolo derivatives for evaluation as potential anti-proliferative, antibacterial and/or antifungal agents. Seventeen new target compounds were prepared. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, or Electrospray ionization mass spectra (ESI-MS). All compounds were tested for their in vitro growth inhibitory activity against Gram-positive bacteria; Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis, Gram-negative bacteria; Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and the pathogenic fungi; Candida albicans and Aspergillus flavus using agar disc-diffusion method. The results revealed that the potent antimicrobial compounds are 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b and 6 as showen in Figure 1. These compounds showed significant growth inhibition against one or more of the tested microorganisms.
