Insecticides which are considered GABA-gated chloride channel allosteric modulators and are classified into Group 30 of the IRAC Mode of Action Classification represent a new class of insecticides, with first registrations in agriculture made during 2018. The chemistry represents a valuable resource for the control of insect and mite pests in many agricultural and horticultural markets. Isoxazolines like fluxametamide (1) and isocycloseram (2) are prominent examples with this mode of action. Several bioisosteric replacements of the central isoxazoline moiety are known from different companies. Present work focuses on isoxazoline bioisosters (3), their synthesis and biological efficacy.
