Clean energy and climate change challenges are facing mankind as the globe urgently searches for solutions to decarbonization of various sectors from automotive, transportation, to various industrial processes. Heterogeneous integration of nanostructures or nanostructure arrays presents a series of opportunities for designing and enabling various applicable devices and systems for meeting these challenges. Such an integration process involves various dissimilar functional nano-building blocks such as particles, wires, and films made of metals, ceramics, or polymers, onto various site-compatible surfaces or function-carrying substrates. In this talk, I will highlight our latest progress on the metal oxide and metal based nanoarray integrations toward different decarbonization devices and systems, specifically on various scalable microreactors and systems. These latest examples integrate nanoarray based catalytic reactors, nanomanufacturing, H<sub>2</sub> production, and CO<sub>2</sub> capture and utilization, forming a closed loop nanoarray integrated system for achieving decarbonized and sustainable energy, environment, and ecosystem.
