Prussian Blue Analogues (PBAs) represent a subset of coordination polymer materials which have applications in energy storage, catalysis, and medicine. Recently, the Strouse group at FSU has employed FeCo-PBAs as single source precursors for the systematic, size-controlled conversion of PBAs to nanocarbides. This conversion follows a templated mechanism, in which the framework and mesocrystal size dictate the eventual nanoparticle size and composition. We have since shown the ability to systematically control the ratio of Fe/Co in the PBA and resultant nanocarbides. Many monometallic transition metal carbides have been synthesized using traditional solid state or solvothermal methods. However, iron-containing carbides possess complex phase diagrams and are notoriously difficult to isolate pure-phase materials under mild synthetic conditions, an important factor to consider for potential use in catalytic and magnetic applications. Furthermore, an investigation of crystal phase control in the bimetallic has yet to be explored. In this study, we will demonstrate the ability to tune phase in bimetallic FeCo and FeNi nanocarbides and probe for intriguing material properties for applications in magnetism and catalysis. All materials will be characterized thoroughly using pXRD, SEM/TEM, XRF, XPS, SQUID and more. We hypothesize our materials will be useful in many feedstock reactions including; water splitting electrocatalysis (OER/HER), CO<sub>2</sub> reduction, Water gas-shift reaction, and Fischer-Tropsch process. Additionally, these novel materials have potential for application in tumor therapy and diagnostic imaging.
