UV-Vis spectra of mixture of CuCl and CuCl<sub>2</sub> dissolved in deep eutectic solvent (DES) based of choline chloride and glycerin were investigated and it was shown that the concentration of Cu (II) can be determined by the intensity of absorbance band at 407 nm. It was demonstrated that the oxidation of solution Cu(I) and Cu(II) salts in DES with gaseous oxygen leads to formation of cations Cu(3+) that after treatment with bis(cyclohexanone)oxaldihydrazone formed blue colored complex. The linear relationship was established between the content of Cu (3+)-containing complex in DES solution and the intensity of absorbance at 602 nm. The concentration of cation Cu(+) can be found as the difference between the concentration of Cu (3+) and concentration of Cu (2+).
