A requisite of well-working amperometric enzyme biosensors is the biocompatible, firm, and accessible immobilization of the analyte-selective protein biocatalyst on the detecting electrode , most often an insulated noble metal or graphitic carbon disks. For glucose biosensors as model case demonstrated will be that the task of glucose oxidase (GOx) immobilization can be successfully accomplished by entrapping the signaling biological recognition element into a easy to deposit blend of polyacrylic acid and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The satisfactory detection performance of PAA/CNT/GOx biosensors will be verified through the presentation of data from glucose calibration measurements and from model and real sample glucose valuations. Operated at + 600 mV vs. reference with an anodic amperometric hydrogen peroxide readout the proposed tools showed a linear range of up to 5 mM and a sensitivity of 34 µA/mM/cm<sup>2</sup>. As their preparation demanded only very cheap commercially available PAA and CNTs and as their completion was possible via execution of bare drop-dry procedures PAA/CNT/GOx biosensors are sustainable, green, and conveniently doable even for laboratories with restricted budgets and/or facilities.
