Copper-catalyzed reactions that engage reagents comprising multiple points for diversification present innovative approaches to the synthesis to organic molecules. In this regard, organodiborons present intriguing opportunities in copper catalysis by pairing the broad scope of copper-catalyzed C–C bond-forming methods with the versatility of a carbon–boron bond. In this talk, the development of practical catalyst-controlled stereoselective C–C bond-forming processes with boron-containing nucleophiles will be presented. Reactions will focus on catalytic methods for the stereoselective generation of molecules containing quaternary and tertiary carbon stereocenters, and include mechanistic details.
